Mahakam river which meander of thousands
kilometers through one of the largest
tropical rainforest in the world
with twenty main Dayak tribes, once
feared as headhunters settle on
this river basin. By cruising the
mighty river and trekking the rainforest,
you will explore remote and unique
world of the famous Dayak tribes
on their harmonious life, and the
tropical rain forest of Borneo.

ITINERARY
Day
01 : ARRIVAL IN BALIKPAPAN
Meet at airport and transfer to Loa
Janan for two hours drive approximately,
then start to cruise the mighty Mahakam
river. (d)
Day 02 : MUARA MUNTAI-TANJUNG
ISUY-MANCONG
Arrive at Muara Muntai, then you will
take sightseeing trip through villages
to see daily activity of Dayak people.
By motorized boat, cruising Jempang
lake to Tanjung isuy to visit longhouse
with traditional dance performance
of Dayak Benuaq. Proceed to Mancong
by car or motorcycle to visit grand
long house called Lamin Mancong. Next,
return to boat to cruise upward through
Ohong river where a lot of proboscis
monkeys hang on trees at riverside.

Day 03 : LEKAQ KIDAU-TENGGARONG-BUKIT
BANGKIRAI
Arrived at Lekak Kidau to explore
the long earing women with tattoo
on their skin, then proceed to Mulawarman
Museum in Tenggarong to see the inheritance
of Kutai Kartanegara kingdom, the
oldest Hindu kingdom in Indonesia.
Next drive to Bukit bangkirai, overnight
on lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 04 : BUKIT BANGKIRAI-BALIKPAPAN
Proceed to trek in Bukit Bangkirai
rain forest, next leave to Balikpapan,
overnight in hotel. (b,l)
Day 05 : DEPARTURE
Transfer to airport for next destination
or extend to other trips. (b)
