AND RAINFOREST TRIP |

Borneo known as one of the largest
tropical rainforests on the earth.
The land offers plenty of fascinated
places to explore. Cruising the
Sekonyer river Tanjung Puting National
Park, you will see wild forest and
kinds of fauna, such as; orangutans,
monitor lizards, crocodiles, proboscis
monkey, wild pig, birds, etc.
Kahung Valley is part of Meratus
mountain, it is good for anyone
who loves travelling, started by
cruising Riam Kanan lake with mountainous
panorama to reach Belangian village.
Then hiking the grass hills and
cross villagers farm. Afterwards,
you will enter tropical rainforest
with plenty of huge trees and streams.
By trekking here, you will enjoy
the wonderful scenery of Meratus
mountain, feel the amazing nature,
and breathe the fresh air of Borneo
forest.

ITINERARY
Day
01: ARRIVAL AT PANGKALAN BUN-TANJUNG
PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Meet at airport, transfer to Kumai
for boating to Tanjung Puting National
Park.The boat is a traditional Klotok
wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with
a roof which forms the upper deck
where you can view the rain forest
as it glides by. The guide's team
includes the boatman, a cook and expert
guide. In the peaceful afternoon we
will slowly explore the quite river
by the klotok while observe the monkeys
along the riverside. Overnight and
dining on the boat, with facilities;
thin mattress, pillow, fine meals,
bottled "mineral" water,
mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet
available on boat besides the familiar
- helpful guides and boatmen. (l,d)
Day 02: PONDOK TANGGUY-CAMP
LEAKEY
After breakfast board the klotok to
travel up river for about 2 hours
boating and then up a side creek to
Camp Leakey where the older orangutans
are reintroduced into the rain forest.
En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the
rehabilitation center for the new
ex-captive orangutans. At Camp Leakey
you will have opportunity to trek
into the rain forest with your expert
guide and the forestry rangers to
appreciate the flora as well as perhaps
sighting wild orangutans, gibbons,
macaques, and birds. Lunch provided
on boat. Afternoon visit the feeding
station to see rehabilitate orangutans
are given additional foods. We will
then sail back down the river to overnight
on the boat.(b,l,d)
Day 03: TANJUNG HARAPAN-PANGKALAN
BUN-BANJARMASIN
Sightseeing in tanjung Harapan, then
transfer to Kumai and Pangkalan Bun
for flight to Banjarmasin. (b,l)
Day 04: FLOATING MARKET- DIAMOND
MINING-BELANGIAN
Early in the morning leave to Floating
Market to see people trading boat
to boat, then proceed to Cempaka village
to see Traditional Diamond Mining
and polishing. Next, transfer to Riam
Kanan by car, then continue the trip
to Belangian village by boat. Overnight
on bivouac or riverside camping. (b,l,d)
Day 05: BELANGIAN-APUNDIT-RIAM
CEMARA-KAHUNG WATERFALL
After breakfast, trekking to Riam
Cemara crossing primary forest with
plenty of huge trees, primates and
birds. Next, continue trekking to
Kahung valley waterfall. Overnight
in bivouac or riverside camp. (b,l,d)
Day 06: KAHUNG WATERFALL-BELANGIAN-RIAM
KANAN-BANJARMASIN
After breakfast, proceed to Belangian
village then transfer to Banjarmasin.
overnight in Banjarmasin. (b,l,d)
Day 07 : DEPARTURE
Transfer to airport for the next destination.(b)
